A new era for Tuscany
24 March 2017
Tuscany is Italy’s fastest growing tourism destination and it is easy to see why with its abundance of attractions to suit every interest and every season.
We are all familiar with the images of winding roads lined with cypress trees, undulating green hills blanketed with rows of vineyards and olive groves overlooked by the golden shades of medieval architecture. A favourite setting for many cinematographic greats such as ‘Quantum of Solace’, ‘The English Patient’ and ‘A Room with a View’; the romanticism surrounding this region is obvious and offers us the perfect destination to sit back and relax whilst enjoying a delicious plate of antipasti and a glass of the local Sangiovese.
The charms of this region are not only recognised by those of us longing for a sun drenched holiday or new life in warmer climes; the financial world has also picked up on the potential of such a desirable region. The European Investment Bank has pledged a EUR 150 million credit line into this area to improve sustainable and strategic transport, urban regeneration, cultural heritage, environmental protection and public buildings. Managed directly by the Region, this investment is only a fraction of the 0.5 billion of works planned for between 2016-2020 and will go a long way into increasing the regions infrastructure and promoting tourism.
The good news is that there are still plenty of inexpensive opportunities for perspective property investors to take advantage of before the work is completed and inevitably prices rise. One such opportunity is with Select Resort’s latest project: Giardini di Borgo 69.
Giardini di Borgo 69 is a brand new residential development of 12 stylish 1, 2/3 bedroom homes, positioned perfectly as an extension to the established village of Pozzo, with extensive views over the Tuscan countryside; including the Val di Chiana and towards the spires and rooftops of the village of Pozzo.
Designed as a blend of strikingly modern architecture fused with “traditional Tuscan”, the project is unique to the region, offering stylish contemporary accommodation for a market that desires more than rustic charm! The project incorporates two existing 300 year old cottages within a stunning new build, which takes its reference from the historic features of the surrounding Tuscan architecture with a uniquely modern twist.
Just this week our Operations Director, Georgina Reilly, headed to the resort for a closer look and has returned enthused with what she found.
“Being half Italian, nothing inspires me quite so much as the Italian way of life and Giardini di Borgo 69 has struck an emotional chord. We are so very excited to be working on and promoting this boutique development in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.”
Talk of sun drenched, lazy summer days are perhaps the most common of analogies associated with Mediterranean countries, however, locations such as Tuscany are ideal all-year destinations. Just 80 minutes north of the Borgo 69 development you can find the Pistoia Mountains with its popular ski resort and the region is littered with well-established cycle and walking routes. If you are a culture-vulture the centre of Florence with its astounding UNESCO heritage sites, architecture and art is just over an hour away and the Piazzas of the 14th Century Siena are under an hour away to the west. Food and wine lovers are spoilt for choice with many guided tours available and more options for authentic Tuscan cuisine than there are hours in a day to sample them.
With all eyes turned to the development of Tuscany and funding in place for the next five years, whether it is a holiday home, life style change or pure investment you are looking for, Borgo 69 is the perfect chance to get involved at the beginning of what plans to be an exciting new era for Tuscany.
