Fethiye Property: An Excellent All Round Investment
04 May 2011
Turkey has a well-deserved reputation as being an investment hotspot due to its burgeoning economy and its location; bordered by seven different countries. The country itself is divided into seven geographical regions, and the climate can vary quite dramatically from one region to another. However most people choose to buy properties near the coast, and the resort of Fethiye is becoming increasingly popular.
An ancient area that used to be called Telmessos, Fethiye is famous for its cultural treasures, including works of art that belonged to the Persians, Lycians, Carians and Romans. It is located in the south-west, where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea, and as well as being a tourist resort town, it is also a trading town with a busy sea port.
As a tourist resort it is almost certainly one of Turkey's treasures. On top of the Mediteranean climate and fantastic beaches, Fethiye boasts an impressive array of shops, restaurants and accommodation.
Another strength of Fethiye is its location, which is central to many of Turkey's other attractions. Both Dalaman and Olu Deniz are within 30 minutes of Fethiye. Dalaman was the number one destination for British travelers in 2008 according to the Association of British Travel Agents, and Olu Deniz has recently been named one of the best beaches in the world. Dalaman also has an international airport which is one of the best served in Turkey.
Buying Fethiye Property for Sale is pretty straightforward and overseas investors can purchase land or property in their own name, so long as the property lies within the boundaries of towns and cities. At the moment it's not permitted for foreigners to purchase agricultural land, or any property which borders a historical or conservation site.
