Hotel Quinta do Lago Nominated for World Travel Awards
18 April 2011
Hotel Quinta do Lago, within the luxury resort of Quinta do Lago in the Algarve, Portugal, has been nominated for six awards this year at the prestigious World Travel Awards.
The Hotel, situated next to the Ria Formosa Natural Park in Quinta do Lago and close to the sea, is one of the most luxurious locations in the Algarve, and has already won five World Travel Awards in past years. In 2004, Hotel Quinta do Lago received the honour of Portugal's Leading Hotel. In three separate years, 2005, 2008 and 2009, Quinta do Lago was also named Portugal's Leading Golf Resort. Last year in 2010, the resort was awarded the overall title of Portugal's Leading Resort.
This year, Quinta do Lago is nominated for all three of these categories again, as well as in the Spa Resort and Family Resort categories. With a total of six nominations, Quinta do Lago is likely to come away this year with another win.
A Benchmark of Excellence
The World Travel Awards are an independent body that acknowledges and celebrates excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. Resorts, Spas, Hotels and more from all over the world are compared and are presented in several Gala Ceremonies in different locations throughout the world. Some of the Galas this year will be held in Dubai, Sharm el Sheikh, Antalya, Bangkok and Montego Bay.
The awards focus on high end luxury, and to receive one is a sign of an excellent resort. The winners of the World Travel Awards are determined by a voting system where users of the website cast their vote for their favourite accommodations. Having been chosen so many times for the World Travel Awards demonstrates that Quinta do Lago is a favourite resort with luxury travellers to the Algarve.
