Savills event - Caribbean is on the up!
11 November 2013
Select Resorts Ltd attended the event representing Kittitian Hill in St Kitts. A number of other destinations also featured, including the British Virgin Islands, Barbados, St Lucia, Panama, Antigua and Brazil.
The event took place on Thursday 31st October and Friday 1st November at the new Savills offices in Margaret Street, London. Each morning associates began their day in the boardroom on the 7th floor with round table discussions and talks from a number of key speakers.
Charles Weston Baker, Head of Residential International, Savills challenged all associates to know their market; know their facts and stats in terms of what has sold and for how much in their areas to better enable them to set realistic valuations.
James Burdess, Head of Caribbean Desk, Residential International, Savills commented on the vast number of committed Savills associates across the Caribbean and South America and of their expansion plans in the US.
Niki Riley, Associate Director Press Office, Savills, along with Neville Page, International Marketing Director for Savills talked of the possible launch of a Savills Caribbean magazine which is in the pipeline. More on that to follow in the future!
Also speaking was Rupert Sebag-Montefiore, Head of Global Residential for Savills.
This provided a fantastic networking forum for the Caribbean associates, seeing it as a new way to work together to the benefit of our clients.
Georgina Reilly, Operations Director, Select Resorts Ltd, explained that the event, 'provides a platform for us to become a united front; we can achieve so much more this way and overcome some of the barriers to business.'
From 11am to 6pm each day the event was open to the public with a cocktail party to follow on Thursday evening, with a live steel band and rum punches to get us all in the West Indian mood.
The event was buzzing, supporting hints that the Caribbean is seeing a heightened interest in real estate once again. Kittitian Hill in St Kitts drew in enquiring visitors with its attractive architecture and landscaping. Those looking for a tranquil retreat on an idyllic island were impressed with what this stunning development had to offer. In addition, the development offers a guaranteed return of 4% over 5 years with no running costs over that time, along with being an approved development for the Citizenship by Investment Programme. We were even lucky enough to have Sanjhevi Kempadoo, Sales Manager at Kittitian Hill, there to talk passionately to visitors about the development.
Pauline Bonanni, Managing Director, Select Resorts Ltd, described the event as ‘a tremendous success.’ Going on to explain that, ‘there were some great networking opportunities and well thought out contributions by all. We received some great interest in Kittitian Hill with a number of people planning visits to the island to look at property very shortly’.
